Raising Your Kids to Love the Lord Book Review

If you're looking for a book to offer practical tips on raising your children to love the Lord, Dave Stone's new book is a must read. I absolutely loved it! I walked away from the book challenged, but also encouraged and hopeful. I highly recommend that every Christian parent take the time to read Raising Your Kids to Love the Lord. You will not be disappointed.

Dave begins the book by talking about being authentic with your kids. One thing he said that really stuck with me was this: "God is more concerned with your direction than your perfection." He's not looking for perfect parents, but for real ones. Ones who are willing to be intentional about the way they raise their kids. Intentional not just about teaching them their ABC's, but also about raising them to know and love the Lord.

As the book progressed, Dave offered practical tips for parents about Bible reading, being available, finding other influencers for your kids, and more. There's a chapter written specifically for moms, as well as one written specifically for dads.

His book can be summed up in a quote from chapter four: "Want your children to love God? Want them to dwell in the house of the Lord forever? Then while you've got them dwelling in your house, make it a house of the Lord." That's my goal, and now I feel much more equipped to do it!

  1. I love that last quote. Keeping our homes focused on God, and showing our kids as such is essential.
